I’m a passionate entrepreneur and industry thought leader with over 15 years of high-tech experience at companies like HP, Citrix, Riverbed, and NetApp. I founded Phala Data an enterprise software startup, because I saw that the evolution of Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies that enabled me to build an innovative product with six patents filed.
When I founded Phala Data in 2015, I thought that VC funding was equally and readily available to women as it was to men. Instead just a mere 3% of VC funding goes to startups led by Female Founders. So, while I was disappointed that the current VC funding environment did not allow me to bring the product that I developed, I was committed to work with the SBA (Office of Innovation and Investment), the Senate Committee for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and with the National Women’s Business Council to ensure that female founders have more access to VC funding in the future.
Determined to change the current VC investing status quo, I founded Female Founders Faster Forward in 2017, a non-profit with 501c/3 status, with a mission to increase the VC investments for Female led startups from 3% to 20% by 2020.
