Congrats to Tina Tran Neville and Jocelyn Gamble, co-founders of college application platform, CollegeAppz!
By Dana Rosenberg (PITCH Competition Coordinator, Women 2.0)
We’re thrilled to announce the second of ten finalists for our PITCH Competition at our Las Vegas conference in November 14-15, 2013: CollegeAppz.com
Co-founders Tina and Jocelyn will both pitch live on stage. A “TurboTax for College Admissions,” CollegeAppz is a college readiness platform built to maximize user data for better school matches for students and improved leads for universities and commercial companies.
CollegeAppz focuses on the combined 490 million high school students in the US and abroad, focusing on first-generation, immigrant and international students who traditionally have less access to college admissions information.
Both Tina and Jocelyn have very personal ties to CollegeAppz as first-generation college students. Prior to founding CollegeAppz, Tina taught at schools in Washington, DC and founded Transcend Academy, another college admissions company. Meanwhile, Jocelyn was a founding member of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and developed business strategies for multiple Fortune 500 companies.
Are you a startup with less than $1 million in funding and at least one female founder? Applications for PITCH are still open with the next round of applications closing this August 31st. Or if you’re keen to see the finalists present their startups live and in person, conference tickets are still available. Get an even better deal by signing up for a Women 2.0 membership.
