The fourth PITCH SF 2013 Startup Competition finalist has been selected – congrats Bia Sports and founder Cheryl Kellond!

Congrats to Bia Sport and CEO/founder Cheryl Kellond for being selected to present live at the Women 2.0 Conference on February 14 in San Francisco! A fitness platform built around data and women, Bia Sport turns workout data into actionable insights and drives motivation through a supportive community online and during the workout.

“For our team, Bia was a classic case of ‘necessity is the mother of invention’. Based on our Kickstarter results – $408K raised, 2100 backers, and 4200 more on the waitlist – plenty of others feel the same way,” said founder Cheryl Kellond. Bia’s first wearable solution – a multi-sport GPS training device – combines a wrist coach and a one-touch SOS safety alert for solo workouts.

Bia CEO and co-founder, Cheryl Kellond is a mother of four, a late-blooming triathlete, and a concept-to-launch expert. Prior to starting Bia, she was VP of Advertiser Product Marketing at Yahoo! and then moved to Manhattan Beach to become COO of a video ad platform company, acquired by 24/7 Real Media. Cheryl sold her first startup, The Casa, to AOL while at MIT Sloan.

This year, she’s building Bia and shipping their first products while training for Ironman Lake Tahoe.

Congratulations to Bia Sport and the team for making it to the PITCH SF 2013 Startup Competition Final Round! The startup competition finalists will pitch live on February 14, 2013 at the Women 2.0 Conference to investors and live audience for prizes.

PITCH SF 2013 Startup Competition invites women-led startups from around the world to apply for a chance to pitch onstage at the Women 2.0 conference on February 14 in San Francisco.
