Female Founders To Watch: Six Female CTOs Leading Startups

Check out these six up-and-coming women entrepreneurs and CTOs.

We at Women 2.0 have been compiling a long list of female CTOs and technical women leaders. This week, we highlight some recent additions to the list, including a handful of PITCH NYC 2012 Startup Competition finalists that will be pitching on November 14 in NYC at the Women 2.0 conference.

Here are six women entrepreneurs to watch who all happen to be the trail-blazing CTOs of their up-and-coming startups:
Bryn McCoy (Co-Founder & CTO, Citizen Made)
Chicago-based Bryn McCoy is CTO of Citizen Made, a product customization toolkit for your online store. She is a self-proclaimed “wild at heart creative type” and technophiliac. Her startup Citizen Made is a finalist for PITCH NYC 2012. Follow her on Twitter at @brynmccoy.

Gisella Borja (Co-Founder & CTO, BookingMarkets)
Currently in TechStars Boston, Gisella Borja is building BookingMarkets so you can launch your own AirBnB. She holds a Master’s degree in Computer Software Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. Follow her on Twitter at @gigiborja.

Joyce Park (Co-Founder & CTO, PandaWhale)
The former co-founder and CTO of Renkoo, Joyce Park is now CTO at PandaWhale, an ever-growing collection of interesting things and people. The serial entrepreneur warns “Don’t underestimate how long funding takes” on PandaWhale. Follow her on Twitter at @troutgirl.

Julia Grace (Co-Founder & CTO, WeddingLovely)
Armed with both undergraduate and graduate degrees in computer science, Julia Grace is CTO at WeddingLovely to make wedding planning easier. She is a mentor at Hackbright Academy and proud member of the Python community. Follow her on Twitter at @jewelia.

Shilpa Dalmia (Co-Founder & CTO, ActivityHero)
After 15 years of software development experience primarily at startups, Shipla Dalmia co-founded ActivityHero to help parents select activities for their kids. The mother of two is a part of 500 Startups and a finalist for PITCH NYC 2012. Follow her on Twitter at @shilpa_dalmia.

Stephanie Leung (Co-Founder & CTO, LightningBuy)
Having built applications from the ground up, Stephanie Leung is the CTO at LightningBuy. She earned a Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Boston University while working full-time. LightningBuy is a finalist for PITCH NYC 2012 Startup Competition.
