When her first company hit profitability, she looked to build again for a bigger market: meet her second company, Tradesy.

The proprieter of Recycled Bride, founder and CEO Tracy DiNunzio launched Tradesy for clothing resale today on web and mobile. She also announced a $1.5 million Series A round today from Rincon Venture Partners, 500 Startups, Dany Levy (the founder of DailyCandy), Daher Capital, Bee Partners, Double M Capital and Launchpad LA in Santa Monica, California.

“The LA tech scene is full of companies that create products and services for women, but female-founded companies still represent a small subset of VC-backed ventures. There are a lot of talented and enterprising women in this city, so it’s exciting and very much an honor for Tradesy to represent what Los Angeles women are capable of,” said CEO and founder Tracy DiNunzio.

On raising Series A for Tradesy, Tracy DiNunzio said, “Raising capital is a challenge for any first-time entrepreneur, and my experience was no different. It’s easy to read the headlines in the tech press and get the impression that companies are getting easy access to funding. It took me years to gain the kind of traction and experience that would make Tradesy attractive to investors. The key is to be relentless in your pursuit of excellence and customer satisfaction, and to keep pressing on no matter how many obstacles you face.”

She underlined the importance of joining a community – advising for early-stage entrepreneurs to “get involved in the community, ideally by joining an incubator. Joining Launchpad LA really changed the game for us, and opened up opportunities and relationships that we wouldn’t have had access to on our own.”

Congrats to serial entrepreneur Tracy DiNunzio for the launch and successful fundraising – we look forward to watching Tradesy replace eBay as the number one online clothing reseller destination in the coming years!
