Female Founders To Watch: Women Entrepreneurs From Astia

Wikipedia says “Astia is a genus of jumping spiders” but here in the tech world, we are familiar with Astia as the non-profit that accelerates women starting high-growth high-tech ventures, offering programs for entrepreneurs globally – providing access to capital, expertise and a global network of mentors, advisors, investors and more.

Khushboo Shah, Ph.D (Founder & CEO, CloudConfidence)
Philadelphia-based Khushboo Shah launched analytics-driven cloud management startup CloudConfidence with over 15 years of experience in advanced analytics and cyber security solutions. Customers receive five times more ROI with five minutes of installation time.

Maureen N. Dunne, Ph.D (Founder, CEO & Chief Scientist, UQ)
San Francisco-based neuroscientist turned entrepreneur Maureen N. Dunne launched VC-backed tech startup UQ and is building the next generation educational platform with proprietary patent-pending personalization technology.

Lesley Marincola (Co-Founder & CEO, Angaza Design)
A Stanford alum with product design and mechanical engineering chops, Lesley Marincola founded Angaza Design to improve the quality of life in off-grid developing nations by making clean and affordable electricity accessible to all. Follow her on Twitter at @angazadesign.

Lindsay Gaskins (Founder & CEO, Marbles)
Banking on neuroplasticity (the concept that a person can continue to grow or modify brain structure and neural mechanisms), Lindsay Gaskins launched brain-energizing toy stores Marbles. Natalie Wisniewski, Ph.D (Founder, PROFUSA)
After earning a bioengineering Ph.D from Duke, Natalie Wisniewski launched PROFUSA, a San Francisco-based life science company revolutionizing the use of tissue-integrating biosensors for biofeedback monitoring, chronic disease management and healthy living.
