Last Thursday night’s Founder Friday Orange County was a success. You would not think of Orange County as a hotbed of startups. There were many interesting and successful female entrepreneurs in the room and filled it with great energy. In addition, many organizations were excited and reached out to help make Founder Friday bigger and better.

There were two startup founders who spoke at the Founder Friday Orange County. Fight Class founder and host Kristen Nedopak (pictured above) has a background in user experience who worked at Microsoft before she took the entrepreneurial journey to become an online celebrity, hosting and producing online videos.

We also had Yaneth Acosta, the founder of SkinMetro, talk about being the mother of two and balancing her personal life with her professional life. She came up with a B2B iPhone app to help identify the best products.

Special thanks go to the Resort at Pelican Hill, recognized as the number one resort in the United States. The staff was friendly and amazing, and supported our mission which we greatly appreciated.

Last Friday night’s Founder Friday San Diego was sponsored and hosted by Procopio. San Diego is another place where you wouldn’t first think of as hosting a lot of entrepreneurs but we met a lot of women entrepreneurs! We at Women 2.0 are excited to grow their community.

At Founder Friday San Diego, Melani Gordon, founder of Tap Hunter, and Adriana Herrera (pictured), founder of Fashioning Change, both spoke about being the founder of a startup as a lonely road where you do need the community’s support. By supporting each other as founders, providing advice, Women 2.0 members grow stronger and achieve work/life balance.

Why Orange County and San Diego?

With each Founder Friday, we realize that having that support is crucial for startup founders.

Networking with one another, meeting like-minded people in the community, and learning from others who are going through the same stages of the entrepreneurial journey is important. We learn from each other’s startup mistakes, and get inspired by someone else’s story.

We hope that by networking at Women 2.0 Founder Friday and educating yourself, you will further innovate and grow your company with the help of the Women 2.0 community.

By expanding Founder Friday to additional cities (hopefully one near you), we aim to enable you with Founder Friday in your own community to grow your network and find mentors, to learn and connect, to succeed and prosper.

See you at next month’s Founder Friday!
