5 Fierce Women We Follow on Twitter — Entrepreneur Edition

Women@TheFrontier compiled a list of five fierce women to follow on Twitter.

Did you know over half a billion people are on Twitter and they tweet 58 million times per day  Crazy, right? And if you’re like us, all those handles, hashtags and promotional posts can leave you drowning in information overload.

So, how do you keep from getting lost in 140 character tweets? At W@F, we started our own search for the fiercest women on Twitter- the women offering advice, tweeting knowledge and inspiring followers along the way. And after we finished our research, we narrowed our list down to 5 Fierce Women We Follow on Twitter- Entrepreneur Edition. Here they are:

 Angie Chang: @thisgirlangie

Bio: Angie Chang is Director of Growth at Hackbright Academy, a training program designed to help women become programmers. She also co-founded Women 2.0 and started the popular Bay Area Girl Geek Dinners, which has become the hottest ticket in town. Fast Company recognized Angie as one of the “Most Influential Women in Technology”and Business Insider named her one of “30 Most Important Women Under 30 In Tech.”

Carie Davis: @cariedavis2

Bio: Carie Davis is the Global Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at The Coca-Cola Company. She focuses on Coke’s role as a resource to the startup ecosystem and fosters entrepreneurship within the company. Carie also leads the partnership with UP Global, whose mission is to inspire and educate people around the world to start something.

Rebeca Hwang: @rebecahwang

Bio: Rebeca, who was born in South Korea and raised in Argentina, is co-founder and CEO of YouNoodle, a San Francisco-based company that helps run competitions in technology and entrepreneurship. Rebeca is also co-founder of Clean Tech Open and Startup Malaysia. She’s a chemical engineer and environmental engineer from MIT who teaches technology entrepreneurship at Stanford.

Kay 
Koplovitz: @KayKoplovitz

Bio: Not only was Kay our spotlight Game-Changer this week, but she’s also on our list of ‘Fierce Women to Follow.’ A visionary, Koplovitz was the first woman to head a major television network: USA Networks and SyFy Channel.

Today, she is the bestselling author of Bold Women, Big Ideas’ co-founder of Boldcap Ventures and chairman of Springboard Enterprises. Kay amplifies the portfolios of other women-led companies through investment, leadership and mentorship. An experienced public board member, Kay is currently the Chairman of the Board of Fifth & Pacific Companies (Formerly Liz Claiborne) and a board member of CA Technologies and ION media. She has served on the boards of Instinet, Oracle, Nabisco, and General Re.

Laura Weidman Powers: @laurawp

Bio: Laura is the co-founder and Executive Director of CODE2040, a nonprofit which creates pathways to success in the innovation economy for Blacks and Latinos/Latinas. In addition to CODE2040, she started two organizations in the education space, one nonprofit arts education organization and one for-profit tutoring company that gave rise to a book.

Laura is a 2013 Echoing Green and Open Society Foundations Black Male Achievement Fellow and a 2013 Stanford Social Innovation Fellow. The Root named her one of the “100 Most Influential African-Americans” and Goldman Sachs declared her one of the “100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs.” Her work has been covered by The New York Times, Forbes, NBC, Bloomberg, Fast Company, NPR, and others.
