Women’s contributions to entrepreneurship, innovation and science and engineering are impressive, but their voices are often muted and their stories fade into the background. Innovating Women, a new project by Singularity University aims to change that.

Created in partnership with noted author and VP of Innovation at Singularity University, Vivek Wadhwa, the project will surface the stories of women in startups and STEM and give them voice through an Indiegogo campaign to crowd-create a book featuring research and perspectives about women’s participation in the innovation economy worldwide. Donations will be amplified by a dollar for dollar donation matching sponsorship from Google For Entrepreneurs, Innovating Women: Past, Present & Future.

You can contribute to the campaign here. But it’s not just funds that Innovating Women in looking for; the project is also after your stories. A discussion platform will allow hundreds of women from around the globe to share their perspectives on entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, career, culture, personal and professional identity and education.

“Advancements in technology and innovative fields are making it possible to solve humanity’s grand challenges in education, food, water and energy,” Wadhwa explains. “Women have largely been left out of the innovation economy – but this is changing. By launching this campaign, my hope is to bring together the voices of innovators who are solving these challenges and to inspire even more women to become engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs and leaders in their fields.”
