By Angie Chang (Co-Founder & Editor-in-Chief, Women 2.0)

Last September, the crowd at Founder Friday in San Francisco met Andrea Johnson, CEO and founder of photo site ThisLife.

Today, Shutterfly announces acquiring ThisLife to power the next-generation photo solution. ThisLife is a cloud-based solution offering intuitive photo and video organization, storing and sharing, founded by Palo Alto-based ThisLife founder and CEO Andrea Johnson.

ā€œAs parents, Matt and I love to capture our family’s special moments, but by the time our oldest was a toddler, we were inundated with cherished photos and videos. These wonderful memories were scattered across the web, various devices, memory cards, and throughout our home,ā€ said Andrea Johnson, founder of ThisLife. ā€œThat is why we created ThisLife; it is a simple, safe, organized home for all your photo and videos. As long time Shutterfly customers we are thrilled to join the Shutterfly team and we look forward to combining our platform with their mass audience. Our technology, combined with Shutterflyā€™s rich product creation paths, will deliver consumers a best in class experience to store, share and create precious memories.ā€

Congratulations to Andrea Johnson and the entire team at ThisLife on the acquisition by Shutterfly – successfully combining forces with the photo sharing giant Shutterfly to deliver the best experience in sharing and storing memories.
