The second PITCH SF 2013 Startup Competition finalist has been selected from the pool of applicants – congrats to HealthyOut, co-founded by CEO Wendy Nguyen. A mobile app helping you find healthy restaurant meals wherever you are, HealthyOut is a currently a Top 50 Food & Drink app in iTunes.

Self-proclaimed “healthy foodie” Wendy Nguyen is CEO and co-founder of HealthyOut. Prior to HealthyOut, she was the VP of Product and Marketing at SocialChorus. Prior to that, she worked in private equity.

ā€œWe are a nation obsessed with dieting, but it’s not working,ā€ said Wendy Nguyen. “HealthyOut was created to help you find convenient food that you still love to eat. We think it all starts with the food.ā€

With two-thirds of American adults struggling with overweight and obesity issues, developing solutions to help people eat healthier has never been more important, especially solutions that fit with peopleā€™s everyday lifestyles.

The team at HealthyOut spoke with “hundreds of nutritionists, dieters and healthy eaters to learn that eating out is an issue for a lifestyle of healthy eating – people lack the information they need to make smart food choices or often feel trapped into always ordering a salad. HealthyOut solves this problem by giving users insight into the food theyā€™re eating before they step into the restaurant,” said HealthyOut’s Wendy Nguyen.

Congratulations to Wendy Nguyen and her team at HealthyOut for making it to the PITCH SF 2013 Startup Competition FINALS! The finalists will pitch live on February 14, 2013 at the Women 2.0 conference to investors and audience for prizes. Early bird tickets available thru December 31.

PITCH SF 2013 Startup Competition invites women-led startups from around the world to apply for a chance to pitch onstage at the Women 2.0 conference on February 14 in San Francisco.
