Help Kickstart Carrie Hammer For The Professional Woman

The demand for professional women’s wear is overwhelming and it’s a market that has been hugely under satisfied for a very long time.
By Carrie Hammer (Founder & CEO, Carrie Hammer)

I started Carrie Hammer after working in advertising sales for four years and being completely frustrated with the clothing options available to professional women.

There were very few stores that served professional women, and the ones that did had very limited choices in style and flattering fit. The demand for professional women’s wear is overwhelming and it’s a market that has been hugely under satisfied for a very long time.

Women are playing a powerful role online and increasingly in the corporate world. Women drive 72% of the apparel and accessories purchases online, a $40BN market (eMarketer).

It’s very important that my products are available online for two reasons:

  1. I’m reaching a busy professional woman that might not have time to peruse stores.
  2. I am able to create higher value to my customer by offering higher quality products and better price points by not having to sell to retail stores.

The fashion world is dominated by men, many of whom have never worked in corporate America, given that I am a woman that has worked in the corporate world, I know what women are looking for and can give them exactly what they need. Carrie Hammer is a customizable online brand for professional women. Many of the dresses are available completely made to measure.

With that being said, we just launched a Ready To Wear line to give our customers the same great professional style “On Demand.” The items are available for pre-order on Kickstarter here.

About the guest blogger: Carrie Hammer is the Founder and CEO of Carrie Hammer. She graduated from UCLA with a degree in Economics and started her career as an advertising sales executive. At her corporate job, she often heard that she should “dress for the job she wanted not the job she had.” Given the difficulty of this task based upon the lack of options, she was inspired to create an online brand for professional women.
