Female Founders To Watch: Women Entrepreneurs Moonlighting As Angel Investors

This week, we celebrate women entrepreneurs who are building startups and investing in startups.
By Angie Chang (Co-Founder & Editor-in-Chief, Women 2.0)

We at Women 2.0 love when women entrepreneurs exit startups and invest in other startups.

We especially love when women entrepreneurs who exit fund other women entrepreneurs, given that 15% of angel investors are women – and these women often have access and connections with women entrepreneurs (who lack traditional networks for investment).

Here are 5 women entrepreneurs to watch building their own companies – and helping to fund other early-stage ventures:
Caterina Fake (Founder & CEO, Findery)
Co-founder of photo sharing site Flickr and taste graph Hunch, Caterina Fake is making places come alive at Findery. She serves as Chairman of Etsy and serves on the board of Creative Commons. She is an active angel investor. Follow her on Twitter at @caterina.

Christina Brodbeck (Co-Founder & CEO, theicebreak)
Before theicebreak for couples, Christina Brodbeck was on the founding team of YouTube, the company’s first UI Designer, and then later went on to lead design for the company’s mobile efforts. She is an angel investor and advisor. Follow her on Twitter at @jellyfishbloom.

Deborah Jackson (Founder & CEO, Plum Alley)
Long-time supporter of women entrepreneurs, Deborah Jackson is a former Managing Director of Golden Seeds, co-founder at Women Innovate Mobile, founder at JumpThru and is currently working on launching Plum Alley. Follow her on Twitter at @dbdj1007.

Jennifer Lum (Co-Founder, Adelphic Mobile)
Mobile entrepreneur Jennifer Lum is co-founder of Adelphic Mobile, was a core team member of Quattro Wireless (acquired by Apple) and m-Qube (acquired by VeriSign) and invests in startups including Crashlytics, OnSwipe and Kinvey. Follow her on Twitter at @jenniferlum.

Sheila Lirio Marcelo (Founder & CEO, Care.com)
As the parent of two boys, Sheila Lirio Marcelo knows the challenges of balancing life as a mom in the business world. She runs Care.com for families to find childcare and elder care, and invests and advises startups in Boston. Follow her on Twitter at @smarcelo.
