Call For Applications: Bay Area Capital Connections Seeks Entrepreneurs To Pitch For Investment (Apply By April 11)

Apply to pitch by April 11, 2012 for Bay Area Capital Connections.
By Darlene Crane (Executive Director, Alliance for Community Development)

This is a special call to members of Women 2.0 to raise visibility of women at the 5th Annual Bay Area Capital Connections Conference on May 10, 2012.

I am urging Founders of startups ready to pitch to apply today for our Pitch session on the afternoon of the conference.

The deadline to apply to pitch is April 11, 2012 – Apply here.

Since 2006, the Alliance for Community Development has held these Capital Connections conferences to showcase diverse entrepreneurs to the investment community. The Pitch Session is on the afternoon of the conference at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco a very high visibility venue. I am working to have women well represented in the pitch event, on our panels and in the audience.

Investor judges at this point are Geoff Roach (Fellow, The Angels’ Forum), Shirley Gee (Angel Investor, Keiretsu Forum), and Mark Perutz (Partner, DBL Investors).

The Alliance will continue to build the panel of investors up to the conference. Our panel on Current Trends in Investing includes Innovation EndeavorsMonisha Perkash (Founder & CEO, Lumoback) and Cory Ford (Director, Runway Program).

We are doing special outreach efforts to women, minorities with an emphasis on African-Americans this year and disabled veterans to attend and pitch.

If your Executive Summary and Presentation are ready, apply now! You will receive more training with angel investor, Geoff Roach (Fellow, Angel Forum) on April 20. He did our training last year and it was excellent. The Founders selected to pitch will receive individual coaching shortly before the conference on April 27. There is no cost to pitch.

Register for Bay Area Capital Connections Conference early here.
