Gust And Astia Partner To Provide A International Women’s Day Scholarship For A Deserving Woman Entrepreneur To Attend Astia

Awarding entrance into Astia’s Fall 2012 Global Entrepreneur Program in Silicon Valley.
By Ilana Grossman (VP Marketing, Gust)

In the competitive and bustling world of startups, the right mentor or support network is key in determining whether a startup makes it or breaks it. While true in most cases, this statement is particularly relevant in the case of under-represented groups, such as female entrepreneurs.

That’s why I’m so proud Gust, the global platform for startup funding and early stage investments, has partnered with Astia, a not-for-profit dedicated to the success of women-led, high-growth ventures, for the International Women’s Day Scholarship.

The scholarship aims to highlight the extraordinary women leaders of high-potential startups by awarding entrance into Astia’s Fall 2012 Global Entrepreneur Program in Silicon Valley.

The winning startup will receive a full scholarship into Astia’s program, a week-long event providing intensive training in areas such as capital fundraising and business leadership, as well as networking opportunities with prominent angel and venture capital investors.

The entrepreneur program includes candid discussions led by active investors and seasoned entrepreneurs. A two-month advisory period enables companies to be paired with a team of advisors, including one investor, one serial entrepreneur and, at a minimum, two other startup experts.

Additionally, select startups will receive:

  • Introductions to leading VCs and angel investors
  • Market intelligence provided by investor-led panels and workshops
  • Presentation skills coaching by a leading expert
  • Increased business acumen and executive leadership skills
  • Expert advice from VCs, angels and successful entrepreneurs

Participants gain important introductions as well as critical skills and insight, such as developing an effective fundraising strategy in today’s market, negotiating competitive term sheets, navigating the due diligence process, leading a successful global company, and much more.

» To apply for the scholarship, create and submit your company profile here by April 8, 2012.

There is no fee to apply. As part of the application, startups will create a profile on Gust, which they can return to in the future to manage the entire funding process. The deadline to submit a completed application is April 8, 2012.

This is an incredible opportunity for women-led startups. If you’re an entrepreneur, apply.

If you’re an investor, encourage the women entrepreneurs in your network to apply.
