Opportunity For Young Entrepreneurs: Apply For The K50

By Samantha Smith (Director of Development & Partnerships, Kairos Society)
There are two things I experience daily with the Kairos Society — innovation by young ambitious leaders and diplomacy through entrepreneurship. Kairos is an international, student-run organization that unites top student entrepreneurs and thought leaders. Each of our fellows and our programming works to bridge the gaps between disciplines, cultures, and generations for the sake of innovation.

Our Global Fellows are ambitious, kind, and sharp. They work to mesh their passion with ideas that take business to a new level and provide value to consumers. Take Lauren Creedon, co-founder of Sports Loyalty International, Martin Shen with UpOut, or Eden Full and the Sunsaluter.

Fellows like Lauren, Martin, and Eden annually convene at our landmark Summit. This year’s Kairos Global Summit will be held February 3-4, 2012 at the NY Academy of Science, United Nations, New York Stock Exchange, and Forbes Family Estate. Present will be 500 Kairos Global Fellows and industry leaders to talk about break through innovation, solutions to our world’s pressing problems, and building businesses. A few of our past keynotes and guests include Daniel Kraft, Thomas Goetz, Maria Bartiromo and Peter Diamandis.

Aside from conversing, relationship building, and solution devising — the Summit is also comprised of the K50, a group of 50 of the top student businesses from around the world. Kairos 50 Award recipients receive global recognition, the opportunity to display on the on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, and an invitation to the K50 Retreat.

Surrounded by Kairos Fellows, industry leaders, investors, and press allows the Kairos community to celebrate and support the top tier student run companies named to the K50.

The K50 showcase is evidence of the work and impact Kairos Fellows and other like-minded young entrepreneurs are creating around the world.

The invitation to apply for this year’s K50 is still open — until December 27, 2011 at midnight. Our call for all young movers and shakers to join the next round of the K50 is out- so if you know someone that should apply, please send them here!

If you’re a student (in or on leave from school) please don’t hesitate to apply — we are looking for companies of all types and stages across industries — and even a few killer not-for-profits!

At Kairos we’re out to change the world through international relations and new innovation. We look forward to announcing the K50 on January 1st, 2012 on our website, and continuing to engage with partners such as Women 2.0 to advance innovation across all sectors and generations.
