The Hatchery Co-Working Space Welcomes Women 2.0 To SOMA

By Rahul Prakash (Partner, The Hatchery)
I met Shaherose back in 2006 and knew she was onto something big when she told me she was a co-founder of an organization called Women 2.0. The valley was brimming with energy as we were in the midst of the web 2.0 surge and Shaherose, or Shai as I call her, would invite me to some of her events and solicit feedback.

I was always amazed by the execution of their events and the quality of the speakers. I distinctly remember hanging out at her apartment the night she got a deluge of business plan napkins for their very first “napkin challenge” and turned to me and said “I think we maybe on to something.”

From that moment to now, Women 2.0’s trajectory has been nothing short of stunning. The events they put together, the community they have built and the message they have delivered has created a wave of discussion and a crop of successful female founders from all over the country. From magazine covers discussing the future of women in the valley to the amount of venture capital we are seeing going to these great female founders, I always attribute the seeds of these changes to Women 2.0.

When we launched the Hatchery back in August, we wanted to create an environment where entrepreneurs, leaders, and creatives could come to a place they could call their own. Our goal is to create an environment of comfort, professionalism, and quality.

We believe that great companies and organizations are created in good company. And we are so very proud of the company we keep.

We are honored to have Women 2.0 build their headquarters at the Hatchery and we are excited to work with them as a partner to share and grow their mission.
